The Ursuline Preparatory School is an independent, co-educational Catholic day school which accepts children from 3 to 11 years of age. It is a charitable organisation, non-profit making, which is managed by an independent board of voluntary trustees. Through this community-led website, we would like to introduce you to life at the Ursuline Preparatory School.

The school is single form entry and there are nine classes within the school, with a maximum of 20 pupils in each class."From EYFS to Year 6, pupils achieve excellent standards." Independent School Inspectorate 2010. State equivalent to our classes, Pre-Reception: Nursery, Reception: Nursery, Kindergarten: Reception, Intermediate: Year 1, Transition: Year 2, Lower One: Year 3, Upper One: Year 4, Lower Two: Year 5, Upper Two: Year 6

As a school we hold academic achievement in high regard but we also realise that extra-curricular activities enable pupils to develop their own interests, physically, personally and socially. The school is in the fortunate position of having very experienced staff with a wide variety of expertise. We are, therefore, able to offer a detailed and comprehensive programme of extra–curricular activities for all abilities.

Admission Details

At Ursuline Preparatory School we try to make the process of applying as straightforward as possible.  Please contact the School via the Contact Us Form or by calling 01277 227152 or email direct to the school secretary: [email protected]

Application for entry is welcome from all. Our admission process does not discriminate and is non-selective. Prospective parents and their children are issued with information regarding the school and are invited to meet with our Headteacher, Mrs. Wilson and have a tour of the school. This meeting is not an interview for entry, it is the opportunity for prospective parents to have any questions they may have answered. If there are no spaces available in the applicant’s particular year an offer of a place on our waiting list will be made.
