EARLY YEARS GIDEA PARK (2-5 years)
TheFollowing Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines, the children learn through a combination of play and more structured teaching and with close care we can identify individual strengths and recognise potential problems at an early stage to ensure that every child is supported to achieve their best. In line with our ethos of individualised learning, those who are ready will receive more formal input.Nursery and Reception classes are focused on building fundamental learning and personal skills that equip the children for future academic success. The Nursery is a calm, open space which is open all year round and staffed by qualified full time practitioners.
GIDEA PARK PRE-PREP (5-7 years)
The Pre-Prep is a happy community. Five year-olds join us from the Nursery and elsewhere and they quickly settle in together, exploring their surroundings and making new friends.This is an exciting time for them. Encouraged to embrace their natural curiosity, the children are eager to learn and discover more about the world around them as they are introduced to subjects like History and Geography. Physical activity is just as important and through team games the girls and boys not only develop new hand/eye skills, but also learn to work together and communicate with each other.
GIDEA PARK PREPARATORY (7-11 years)
Throughout their time here, close, continual assessment ensures that each child has the opportunity to meet – and even exceed – their potential. Every year, each cohort has gained results in standardised tests which are well above the national average. These excellent results have enabled most of our pupils to achieve their first choice of senior school, many of them to prestigious Independent Schools or Grammar Schools. Each class up to Year 5 has two assigned Year 6 prefects to help and guide the younger children, as they move through their Prep School years. All pupils gradually take on increased responsibility and at the end of Year 6 the girls and boys emerge as confident and capable young people, ready and eager to move on to their chosen senior school.

Learning Support

Art
They believe that the arts are hugely important to the life of the school and we aim to nurture a love of art, music and drama. Every pupil is encouraged to develop their ideas and explore their artistic talents, using a broad range of techniques.
Wraparound Care
They offer both before and after school care from Nursery up to Year 6. The provision has been designed to be enjoyable for your child and flexible for you, and is available on a regular or ad-hoc basis. This means that children can attend different sessions on different days, and if there are last minute changes we will always do our very best to accommodate requests.The wraparound provision is run by our own staff, who are well-qualified and very experienced. Sessions are carefully supervised, and you can be assured that your child will be happy and well looked after.
