The Campion School is leading State Secondary school in Hornchurch. This is a Non-selective school for kids age 11 to 18 years. Gender - Boys. The Campion School aims to be an outstanding Roman Catholic school with a strong and united community in which everyone contributes to the school’s religious and educational objectives.
Facilities
They recognise the importance of extra-curricular activities and offer a wide range of religious, sporting and musical opportunities. All Year 7 and 8 students participate in a retreat to reflect on their role and ambitions in Catholic community and throughout their school life, students have many opportunities to travel abroad, including trips to Italy, France and as far afield as Kenya, Canada and Australia. Music is a strength of school life.
The Campion School has established a national reputation for sporting excellence. They have impressive sporting facilities including sixteen acres of grass fields and hard play area, an all-weather, floodlit surface, a gymnasium, an indoor swimming pool, a multi-purpose indoor sports hall and a community fitness gym.
The choirs, orchestra, jazz band and windband perform regularly and to a very high standard. Individual instrumental lessons are available, and in recent years musicians and singers have performed in Westminster Cathedral and in Rome, Paris, Aachen and at the Menim Gate, Ypres.
The school has a number of representative team sports: rugby, soccer, cross-country, basketball, athletics and cricket. Other sports to which boys have access include swimming, golf and badminton.
