Taking part in Drama gives pupils the freedom to experiment with language and movement, teaching the joy of self-expression. It is also a fantastic way to develop confidence.
A love of music is evident throughout Ashville and our pupils love nothing better than to come together to and sing and perform an array of musical instruments. Music across Ashville is coordinated by the Director of Music, who ensures that the curriculum supports the development of music.
Sport and PE are an important part of school life at Ashville. The curriculum is designed to suit each age group but also ensure that sport remains enjoyable and accessible.
Whether through outdoor learning, workshops delivered by external leaders, day trips, or multi-day excursions, all provide a variety of stimulating experiences that contribute to the creation of energized and inspired learners.
Because Ashville is an academically selective school, your child will need to take part in an individual assessment before they are able to offer a place. This varies by year group as follows:
Acorns Nursery Class: a 30-minute observation visit
Reception: a ‘Ready for School’ assessment with the Head of Prep School
Years 1 – 6: a 30-minute assessment with the Head of Prep School
Year 7: entrance exam (held in January)
Years 8 – 11: examinations as part of a taster day
Sixth Form: submission of mock or predicted GCSE grades and an individual interview
Ashville also offers a number of scholarships in recognition of talent in the following subject areas. There are additional forms of assessment, which are outlined below.
