Belmont Primary School is an Independent Primary school for kids aged 5 to 18 (Gender - mix )
One of the key priorities is to build an even better school based on raising the profile of what really matters with a focus on being a Listening School-'Every Voice is Heard'. The vision reflects the aim to inspire all children regardless of their background or circumstances, to flourish within a nurturing environment whilst striving for excellence in all that they do. They believe in children learning knowledge and skills-'knowing more and remembering more' to prepare them for the next stage in their education and life as engaged and successful citizens of the future. To achieve this, the school values: 'Be Safe', 'Be Respectful' and 'Be a Learner' are explored and embedded in all aspects of school life and are the values they feel best equip the pupils to achieve this. The unique Belmont Way is embedded in everything they do for both pupils and staff and underlines the commitment to supporting all pupils in their journey to achieve their unique and full potential.
CURRICULUM
Intent: To build knowledge and skills for all children in preparation for the next stage in education and life as engaged and successful citizens of the future. Learning is creative and enquiry led to develop inquisitive learners who deepen their knowledge and understanding in all areas of the curriculum. Cultural capital is developed for all children through opportunities that enhance the curriculum including mapped educational visits and workshops across the school and enrichment weeks e.g. STEM. These contribute to narrowing the gap for SEND and disadvantaged pupils.
Implementation: The School delivers a rich and varied curriculum that carefully builds knowledge and skills taught through subjects and wider opportunities such as Forest School and the Kitchen Garden. Children's understanding of physical and mental well-being is promoted through PSHE, PE and wider school life. Cultural capital through a broad and rounded curriculum exposes our pupils to a large variety of subject areas and arts; promoting character-building qualities that lead to creating well-rounded, global citizens-asking the questions. They carefully target use of pupil premium to encourage social mobility and equity.
SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS AND DISABILITY (SEND)
At Belmont, they believe that all of the children have an equal right of access to a broad and balanced curriculum which enables them to achieve educational success and to reach their full potential. We use our best endeavours to meet each child's additional needs and make reasonable adjustments in order for them and their families to fully participate in the life of the School. The London Borough of Hounslow’s Local Offer, sets out information about the local authority’s provision for children with special educational needs and/ or disability. The link to the Hounslow Local Offer is at the bottom of this page.
CLUBS
They have an excellent range of school clubs on offer for the children, giving them the the opportunity to benefit from learning new skills to enrich their curriculum. Clubs include a huge variety of sports, well-being, music, arts, languages, cookery and crafts. Most clubs run after school from 3.15pm to 4.30pm, and a few run before school starts. Clubs are mainly run by experienced external providers and a few are run by teachers. All club leaders have enhanced DBS checks and they also assess the quality of our clubs each term through observations, as well as via feedback from the children and parents.
