Orchard House School is Independent Primary school in Ealing for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )
Orchard House School is a carefully designed middle school for girls in grades five through eight, located in Richmond, Virginia’s Historic Fan District. Every aspect of the Orchard House School education is deliberately based on the developmental and academic needs of girls. They honor the planned vision for the school by welcoming girls of varying strengths from over 20 different schools and zip codes. They are proud of our graduates as they return to diverse public, private, parochial and governor’s high schools and are consistently recognized for their achievements, talents and contributions. Leadership is at the heart of the curriculum, with programs designed to ensure that our girls have the skills and opportunities to develop a sense of leadership and commitment to the broader community.
ACADEMICS
Orchard House School has developed an instructional program that is logical, sequential, coordinated, and designed to meet the developmental needs of girls from grades 5 through 8. While many of the disciplines are organized in traditional ways, the school also places special emphasis on universal education in the arts and in providing a comprehensive approach to teaching leadership. In the classes, students are taught in ways that have been demonstrated to work particularly well for young girls, including fostering strong relationships between teachers and students and emphasizing collaborative approaches to learning. While the education offered is unique to OHS, teachers and administrators also pay close and careful attention to preparing the girls to excel in the many learning environments they will encounter after graduation and, in the words of the school, “to bloom where they are planted.”
EXPLORE
Figuring out who she is and how she fits in is a middle school girl’s chief developmental task.
