Grove Park Primary School is part of the education service provided by the London Borough of Hounslow. The school was opened on 7th January 1952 on a site formerly owned by London's St Thomas's Hospital. The Nursery class was purpose built and opened in 1985. The area is reminded of the link with St Thomas's Hospital by local street names, such as the own Nightingale Close.Today Grove Park continues to flourish as an outstanding two form entry primary school which is a hub of creativity, high ambition and achievement! Grove Park reached the Sunday Times top 200 schools in the country rightly reflecting the status as a leader of primary provision in the local area. Surrounded by magnificent oak trees with an enviable playground, allotment and pond and wildlife area they see themselves as a haven of peace and greenery in the heart of West London. Squirrels and other wildlife are regularly seen in our green areas, providing much excitement for our children.
Curriculum
At Grove Park, the vision is deeply centred upon the individual child at Grove Park and we strive to provide an exciting and stimulating curriculum punctuated by high standards and creativity. Rich curricula activities form part of the core curriculum whereby pupils contextualise their learning through educational visits, residential visits and many school visitors. To place learning in context enriches and enthuses children to understand why and what they are learning. The community and familial ethos is a key aspect of the school; first and foremost they are a community and they welcome parents to be full and active members of the school. In light of this we set termly targets with each pupil during Assertive Mentoring sessions and share these with parents; they also hold a range of parent workshops and forums. They hope that the following information and resources will also be useful for parents/carers in supporting their children’s learning.

At Grove Park Primary School we believe PE and Sport plays an important role in making our vision statement a reality for every pupil, with the potential to change young people’s lives for the better.Through PE and Sport our children learn to develop the important qualities of discipline, resilience, communication, team work, and ambition, leading to improved concentration, attitude, and academic achievement.
Special Educational Needs
At Grove Park Primary School we value all children in the school equally. This is reinforced by the ethos of the school that is committed to care, justice and compassion for all our children. They recognise the duties under the Equality Act 2010 towards individual disabled children and young people. Underpinning our ethos at Grove Park is a ‘personal growth’ model of teaching whereby the ‘whole child’ is educated. All members of the community are treated with respect and dignity.
