Established in 1926 by Mrs Elliot-Pyle, Dunottar School is a co-educational day school for ages 11-18, based in Reigate, Surrey. Dunottar is a school with high standards and a warm heart, providing an excellent, all-round education.
Facilities
Dunottar School is located in a handsome Palladian-style mansion set in 15 acres of beautiful grounds just outside Reigate town centre.
During their break and lunch times, pupils can make the most of the beautiful surroundings through various outside activities including giant chess and teqball tables.
Nestled amongst the trees in the extensive woodland area is recently constructed outdoor classroom. This versatile outside space can be used for creative projects and activities, drama and musical productions as well as providing an extension to classroom activities such as bug hunting in biology!
The sporting facilities at Dunottar include a 25m indoor swimming pool, large Sports Hall with 4-lane cricket net system, three floodlit, outdoor tennis / netball courts, a fully equipped gym, and a large training pitch which can be used for athletics, football, cricket and lacrosse.
Lacrosse, rugby and football fixtures are played at Old Reigatians RFC, where they have use of three grass lacrosse pitches, extensive and well-maintained pitches rugby and football pitches.

Dramatic productions are always a highlight of the school year. From the lead actors to the backstage crew, staging a production is a true team effort which brings out the best in all involved as everyone pulls together to create something truly memorable.
The Saturday Music Academy is open to all young musicians between the ages of 5 and 18. They offer music tuition for all abilities, from beginners to more experienced musicians, for strings, woodwind, piano, voice and music theory. The Academy offers pupils the opportunity to work with visiting professional musicians in masterclasses, choral and chamber music projects as well as regular performing platforms to enhance progress and the appreciation of music.
Impressive art works adorn the walls of Dunottar and all forms of visual arts are an important and popular part of school life. From Year 7, pupils are encouraged to record observations in sketchbooks to help stimulate imaginative ideas and they are exposed to a variety of materials, techniques and tools.
They want to develop a sporting culture that will see regularly field A and B teams across all years in our ‘priority sports’ – netball, lacrosse, rugby, football (for girls and boys) and cricket – with over 95% of pupils involved in competitive school sport.
The admissions process at Dunottar is designed to help identify those pupils who will thrive at school. They make sure that the admissions process is as friendly and relaxed as it can be so that your son or daughter can be themselves on the entrance assessment day and do their very best.
The main intake at Dunottar is in Year 7 and Year 12.
You may register your son or daughter at any time prior to the registration deadline (28th September 2022 at 9am for Year 7 and 2nd December 2022 for Year 12). To register your son or daughter simply complete the online Registration Form and transfer a non-refundable £100 registration fee to the School Account using the bank details on the form.

Scholarships are awarded to pupils who enter the school in years 7 and 12. These pupils are expected to be exceptional in their performance and potential. Scholars’ programme has been designed to provide Dunottar Scholars with an enriching experience that will bring out the best in most able pupils.
They expect Scholars to show real commitment to their scholarship subject(s), to aim high, not simply for their own benefit, but to have a positive impact on their peer group and other pupils as advocates of their subject areas.
