Endeavour House School is Independent Primary school in Redbridge for kids aged 6 to 12 (Gender - Mixed )
The specialist school and children's home in Oxford is for children and young people aged between 8 and 19 with autism and severe learning difficulties who benefit from an autism specific environment. Developed in partnership with MacIntyre Academies Trust and Oxfordshire County Council, Endeavour was established to meet the needs of local students and their families. The Academy provides a person centred curriculum for students; meeting their individual needs with a strong focus on gaining life skills that support independence. They work closely with the parents and carers of each student to ensure the whole family is fully supported and reassured that their child is safe and happy, respected and celebrated. This includes the offer of flexible residential opportunities in our onsite Children’s Home.
They offer a wide range of activities to help prepare young people effectively for adult and working life. They provide the young people with a balanced range of interesting, exciting and stimulating experiences that will allow them to concentrate on the core skills of communication, independence and emotional development. They focus on these core areas in all of the activities to support our students lives outside of Endeavour. Work experience currently offered by Endeavour Academy includes: work in a local cafe, access to FarmAbility careers project, working at local baby group, working at a small farm but also a number of school based enterprise projects and work experiences that include running 'Jacket Potato Cafe' and 'Burrito Cafe', card making enterprise, work in the school office, use of school hairdressing facilities and working in our school cafe the Hexagon Hub.
After School Club (ASC)
The students have the opportunity to access an extended school day at our After School Club (ASC) which runs between 15:00 and 18:00 Monday-Thursday. The club is based in the main school building centred around the Hexagon Hub café and is overseen by Kay Sage who is responsible for planning, managing and leading each session.Students attending ASC can take part in various activities including arts and crafts, reading club, baking, team building activities and shopping visits into the community.The ASC has access to the soft play area, OT room, sensory room, outdoor areas and the main school hall as well as a wide range of equipment.
Therapies
Endeavour Academy offers a number of therapies and alternative approaches and activities. Pupils are referred to each therapy/ activity. They might undergo a suitability assessment period to ensure that their individualised curriculum meets their specific needs.The staff team participate in the training with therapists, allowing them to deliver some aspects of the therapy or an activity.
