Hinchley Wood School is a State Secondary School for kids aged 11 to 18 (Gender - Mixed)
We are a state funded, non-selective 11-18 mixed comprehensive Academy. The core business is teaching and learning and we have a relentless focus on teaching lessons of the highest quality - lessons that stimulate and inspire young minds. Curriculum
Hinchley Wood School offers a rich and stimulating curriculum. They deliver the Key Stage 3 curriculum in Years 7-9 with students studying a broad range of subjects before they begin their Key Stage 4 GCSE choices in Year 10. The Sixth Form curriculum offers 26 A level subjects as well as enrichment and student leadership opportunities. The school operates a two week timetable.

Music
The school was designated as a specialist music college by the Department for Education in 2005. In order to achieve this status the school had to raise £50,000 along with a detailed plan for promoting the development of music across the school and in the wider community. In return the school received £100,000 for capital funding and an annual grant to support the programme. The funds were used to build a dedicated music suite with fully equipped classrooms, practice rooms and a state of the art recording studio.

Hinchley Wood School is a mainstream, inclusive school which looks to meet the needs of all learners regardless of their Additional Learning Needs. The staff work hard to ensure that our approach to teaching and learning is of high quality and personalised to meet the individual needs of all of the students with additional support provided for those who need it. Teachers have a learning profile for each student with additional needs. There is a clear expectation that all teachers have the highest expectations for all students and differentiate the curriculum to meet individual needs. The value and respect diversity in our setting and do the best to meet the needs of all the learners; regular reviews are carried out to ensure students are making progress and action taken if issues have arisen.
