Judith Kerr Primary School is Independent Secondary school for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )
They believe that bilingualism is for everyone and welcome children of all language abilities, whether they have never been exposed to German language before or they have spoken German at home since infancy. They feel that JKPS is a special place where staff are dedicated to providing a stimulating and exciting environment in which everyone feels valued and safe. They want the pupils’ time in the school to be memorable and believe they provide a caring environment where every child is valued as an individual and where diversity is celebrated. The school community is justifiably proud of the school and its achievements so far; they are all dedicated to supporting the school to realise its vision. The passion and collaboration of all stakeholders has led to a very close community that works tirelessly to achieve the best for all its children.
Curriculum
At Judith Kerr Primary School, all pupils are immersed in a creative curriculum that is rich in language and provides learning experiences which promote high levels of pupil engagement, inclusion and achievement. They have developed the own challenging and relevant topic-based curriculum that enables children to learn in a cohesive and evolving way. They are inspired to learn through exciting, meaningful cross curricular lessons. They are committed to providing each child with specialist teaching of the German language and its culture in a diverse, multi-lingual environment. The curriculum celebrates the diversity of the community and draws upon its skills, knowledge and cultural wealth. The aim is to support the children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, ensuring they are well-prepared for life in modern Britain and beyond.
SEND and inclusion
A pupil has special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) if they have a learning difficulty or disability that calls for special educational provision, that is, provision greater than or additional to that normally available to pupils of the same age. They want children to thrive intellectually, spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially, and recognise that some children face greater obstacles to achievement and may need special consideration.
Remote Education
They have developed a Remote Education Plan to provide continuity of education for our pupils in the event of school closure. There are a variety of circumstances in which children may require remote education. These are: a child, or household member, is awaiting a coronavirus test result, a child is self-isolating, a proportion of children in a class are self-isolating, a whole class or year group bubble is self-isolating, school is only open for the children of critical workers and vulnerable children, school is closed to all children
