Malton Montessori School is Independent Primary school in North Yorkshire for kids aged 5 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )
They are a Montessori School based on the rural outskirts of Malton North Yorkshire, offering Flexible Montessori education for children from birth to 12 years via our school of home schooling and Early childhood Nurture groups. The Art studios and Village clubhouse embrace a growing collective of community initiatives and Out of school activities for older children . These are kindred to the Montessori philosophy, enabling children and their famillies to gain real experiences and skills in calm and beautiful environments. They aim to bring education to life The Montessori way, encouraging every child towards discovery of their passions, purpose & potential.
Facilities
The classrooms are rich environments specifically designed and equipped with a wide range of physical learning materials facilitating hands on learning. Children use these multi sensory resources to support their knowledge & understanding of the entire curriculm, ranging from core to cultural study. The humanities, art, technology, relationships, world faith, P.E., health & well being are all approached and supported in the same way. When tangible aids are no longer needed for children to abstract knowledge, these are left behind in favour of the extensive range of books and e-resources, this prepares each child for their transition to senior school. Montessori school is predominantly a test-free environment, children are continously but unobtrusively assessed against both Montessori and national standards, negating the need for regular examinations. Personal study is encouraged for older children so they can make the most of their interests and pursuits. All children, are encouraged to read every day both at school and in the home.

Outdoor
They encourage children to spend a great deal of their time outside in the gardens and grounds. All children take part in Meadow & Woodland sessions, connecting with nature, exercising, exploring and learning through their senses, whilst all the time benefitting from healthier immune sytems, sunshine & vitamin D. They give the same attention to detail to the outdoor environment as they do for the inside learning areas. When planning the outdoor environment they recalled the own childhood memories of play, recollecting times given over to outdoor exploration, industry & imagination, free from indoor rules and constraints.They have not re-created the indoor environment outside, but constantly strive to provide new areas that are exciting, imaginative and where possible natural & sensory. In this way they encourage children to live life adventurously, industriously and to explore, immerse and discover in ways that would be difficult or contrived inside.
