Facilities

Curriculum
At Meadowbrook they are proud of our extensive hybrid curriculum which we consider to be broad, inspiring and well balanced. They also provide a varied selection of after-school Clubs and supplement the class learning with a wide range of visiting speakers, outings to places of interest and workshops. The curriculum is not only inspired by the Montessori programme of study but also takes into account the National Curriculum objectives. They use a variety of published schemes of work in conjunction with the Montessori materials and encourage the children to develop strong research skills.Specifically regarding our Reception Class, The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children’s ‘school readiness’ and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that the government believes provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life. Meadowbrook’s Reception curriculum is designed to ensure that all the Early Learning Goals are met comprehensively.

Day to Day Info
Meadowbrook, the children are seen as partners in the learning process, taught how to learn and not just what to learn and are actively involved in the academic and behavioural expectations of the school.Children are encouraged to develop a positive growth mindset, to learn from their mistakes and to continue to challenge themselves by believing in their capabilities. We empower them to have a say in their development. Many of our children come from other schools and make the most of their new environment by settling in quickly and making excellent progress from their starting points.

Admission Details

Whilst they are a ‘non selective’ school academically, we are indeed a school that strives to ensure a good match between parent, school and child. This means making judgements about mutual suitability, for example, what parents are looking for in a school versus what they offer. It means looking at whether or not parents can support the school’s ethos, in terms of work ethic and positive discipline or whether they value what is it that makes Meadowbrook such a special place.
