Moor Park School is Independent Secondary school in Non-selective for kids aged 2 to 13 (Gender - 2 to 13 )
The 85 acres of Shropshire countryside that Moor Park children call home is a place where memories are made. Whether they’re building dens in the forest, discovering mini (and not-so-mini) beasts in the fields, getting muddy exploring new places to play or just enjoying the shade and branches of the magnificent trees, Moor Park is first and foremost a place for children. Childhood is a precious time, one which we protect and cherish. After all, good roots produce good fruit. At Moor Park, they pride ourselves on knowing the children in the care. Really knowing them – and so helping them to discover their passions and their talents. The children are given every opportunity to discover and fulfil their potential, wherever that lies. We want our children to be creative, independent and courageous thinkers who see kindness to others and kindness to the planet as essential to success in life
Pre Prep
Moor Park Pre-Prep is an incredibly special place to be. I feel lucky to be able to work here, to educate my own family here and enormously proud to be leading a team of such dedicated professionals, whose sole aim is to inspire, and enthuse the young people in our community. The staff at Moor Park pride themselves on knowing every single child: their interests, their talents, even what makes them nervous and things that they struggle with. Whatever point your child is starting from, it is our goal to nurture their curiosity, develop their talents, stretch their boundaries and develop in them a confidence that ensures they feel ready to tackle anything. Activities are designed to engender in pupils a sense that learning is FUN!More than anything, Moor Park Pre-Prep is a kind place. The small classes allow children to learn in a secure and supportive environment, whilst on the playground, children of different ages will often be found playing together. They not only notice if somebody is hurt or upset, but they care enough to do something about it.
Prep School
Moor Park is a co-educational country prep school in a beautiful setting in the Shropshire countryside, combining outstanding academic and extra-curricular success, with a culture of kindness founded on Catholic principles. The Prep School starts for children in Year Three and ends in Year Eight when children leave Moor Park to go to the senior school of their choice. The prep school is split up into the Middle School for Year Three to Five when children have a Form Teacher in charge of their pastoral care and academic progress and the Upper School from Year Six to Eight when children have a Tutor who guides them through the last three years of Moor Park. Each Tutor group is no bigger than ten pupils and is made up of children from Year Six to Year Eight.
Activities
It is a wonderful thing to be able to offer young children such a varied and exciting set of opportunities, for it is through trying new things that we discover where our talents and true passions lay.Children in the Pre-Prep have a wide choice of extra-curricular activities available to them. Some of these are timetabled during the school day and others are run as after school activities.Activities include Taekwondo, ballet, instrumental lessons, Fawns (a Woodland School/craft activity for Year 1 and 2), Speech and Drama, tennis and swimming. In addition, in the Summer Term of Year 2 the children are offered an additional activity session to start their preparation for the longer school day in Year 3. This may be cooking, DT, art or sport.
After School Club
After school care is available every day for children in Kindergarten to Year 2 from 3.45 – 6.00pm. Children are collected from their classrooms and taken to tea. This is a nutritious and delicious hot supper; much needed at the end of a long day. After School Club is housed in our Kindergarten classroom; a familiar setting for our littlest children. There are many games and activities for the children to choose from and they will often play outside in the secure play area when the weather is nice. This service offers a flexible pick up time for working parents or for those who are arriving later to collect older siblings.
Sport
Sport is an intregal part of life at Moor Park, and while we believe it is important to play to win, we also regard the taking part – the teamwork, learning to win and lose, the development of self-esteem and social skills, the healthy exercise, as well as the fun – as equally valuable. We want each child to leave Moor Park having enjoyed playing and with experience of many different games, while developing the sporting skills necessary to appreciate the value of ‘sport for life’. We believe that attitude towards sport is as important as the ability within sport
