PACE is an independent specialist provider of education, welcoming young people who have become disengaged from mainstream learning, and are in receipt of an Education, Health & Care plan.
The curriculum is delivered by qualified teachers who tailor individual learning pathways to suit the needs of the learners. Every child has the right to succeed, and they ensure that they support them to overcome personal challenges and boundaries during their time and in preparation for adulthood.
Selection Criteria: Selective
Pace is a specialist school registered to work with up to 24 young people between 13 – 16 years old. All students must have an EHCP and the majority will have social, emotional & mental health needs as well as other diagnoses such as autism and ADHD. Due to the educational histories of the children, they understand that they may be anxious or school phobic and or have an incredibly negative view of what school is. They also appreciate that many may have missed significant periods of education and therefore have gaps in their knowledge.
Process: Referrals are made to them directly by the Local Authority. Upon receipt of the consultation and any additional information, the Senior Leadership Team will review and decide whether Pace is a suitable environment to best place a child based on the information provided. If it is deemed that Pace can cater for the needs of an application following consultation, the school will liaise with the local authority and arrange for parents/carers and the child (if appropriate) to visit the school. Following the visit parents/carers and Pace will contact the LA to discuss their views of whether to place or not.
Annual fees (day pupils): £42,000
