Facilities

Nursery
The Nursery has excellent classroom facilities with many resources available to children in the form of a role-play area, focused learning activities and arts and crafts etc. The garden provides opportunities for climbing, balancing, riding tricycles and scooters, ball skills, digging in the sand and water, observing the natural world and much more! Prep School
After attending Nursery, girls continue their learning journey in our Reception class, where the emphasis is on making learning fun! Girls who already attend our Nursery are given a priority for a place in Reception. Other girls join us from feeder primary schools if places are available.Reception provides a stimulating and secure learning environment. With excellent resources inside and outside to foster exploration, imagination and independence, the Early Years’ experience at PGHS sets a firm foundation for future learning.

Senior
In the Senior School excellent relationships with staff, and the School’s commitment to highly effective teaching and learning strategies help the girls to attain their personal goals and aspirations.  Our forms are divided into small teaching groups with an average of 12 at GCSE.  This ensures that teachers know their pupils, and are able to individualise learning plans to promote rapid personal development. They are proud to be renowned for our excellent examination results.  However, our pupils’ success is not only measured in terms of academic accomplishments. We celebrate success in all spheres of life and believe in supporting and challenging our pupils though their journey towards achieving their true potential.

Things to note

Special Educational Needs And Disabilities (SEND)
They welcome pupils with special educational needs and physical disabilities. Subject to being able to meet the additional needs appropriately, we do all we reasonably can to provide additional support. The ability of the School to meet any additional and special needs will be determined by the Headmistress and the   Individual Needs Department. We always advise parents and carers of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities to discuss their daughter’s requirements with the School so that the necessary provision and accommodations can be put in place prior to the formal assessment. When a pupil has an Educational Psychologist, Specialist Assessor or medical report, this should be made available to support their request for special arrangements, for example for extra time.
