Proud of our distinctive character as a diverse and fully comprehensive girls’ school, we value individuality and celebrate the relationships that make us a uniquely positive and supportive school community. We have an unswerving commitment to our inclusive culture and a well-established reputation for providing an education of the highest quality for girls. Our motto, which runs as a golden thread through everything we do captures our essential ethos: they are a High Achieving and Happy school. At Parliament Hill they understand the opportunities and challenges of being a young woman in a dynamic and changing world. We empower our students to take advantage of every opportunity to enhance and transform their lives, enabling every girl to forge a strong positive identity asa young woman in the 21st century. Our academic and creative curriculum is distinctive and tailored to our context. We are highly successful in developing confident, articulate and independent learners who are motivated to achieve now and in the future.
Curriculum
They want the students to become independent learners able to fully benefit from the opportunities of a lifetime of learning ahead of them. We recognise that in order to do this we will need to provide high challenge and will also need to support and scaffold this development along the way. We want our students to become learners who can take risks, make mistakes and use these to move forward. We want our students to be able to use their knowledge and skills powerfully, to ask questions, search for solutions and to be able to make a positive contribution to the world around them.
Remote Learning
In periods of fully remote teaching they will follow the school timetable and five live lessons will provide a structure for students to plan their day. Students will be registered by tutors at 8.40 am and reminded of the expectations for the day. They will also be registered in their five live lessons. In addition asynchronous learning, such as recorded videos and presentations, allows students to review work at their own pace and can therefore provide a deeper learning experience.
Sixth Form
Parliament Hill is a member of LaSWAP, which is the largest sixth form in Camden and the longest-established sixth form consortium in London. We have 30 years of experience in providing a first-class post-16 education. LaSWAP combines the strengths of its four partner schools: La Sainte Union, William Ellis, Acland Burghley and Parliament Hill.
Clubs and Opportunities
They encourage all students to take advantage of school clubs and after-school activities so that they find areas of interest and enjoyment both inside and outside the curriculum.
