EYFS
The teaching in Reception forms the foundation of the whole school curriculum skills progression and our teaching of the National Curriculum content and skills in Years 1-6. In Reception, they teach and learn in as cross-curricular and concrete way as possible, often through real life experience and themes based on books and the children’s interests. They follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework to plan, teach and assess progress across the three prime areas of learning (communication and language, physical development, and personal, social and emotional development) and the four specific areas of learning (literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design).
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Religious Education (RE) of the highest quality lies at the heart of the life as a Church of England primary school. They follow the RE syllabus that has been written by the Diocese of London and has been designed to help children to both learn about religions and to learn from religions.Whilst the children learn about all the major world faiths, the syllabus naturally gives particular emphasis to the Christian faith. After a consultation process involving our children, the teachers at Hampstead Parochial School have developed five Principles for Religious Education that underpin the entire RE offering: They believe that Religious Education allows us to ask ‘big’ questions where there isn’t necessarily a right or wrong answer. They believe that Religious Education allows them to explore values and morals that we and others hold. They believe that Religious Education allows them to explore a variety of cultures and beliefs whilst developing acceptance and understanding

The vision is to enable everyone within our community to flourish and enjoy a life filled with love, meaning and purpose.Hampstead Parochial is an inclusive school in which everyone works hard to ensure that every child makes the greatest possible progress academically, socially and personally. We work collaboratively with external health professionals, such as Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Educational Psychologists, to ensure that SEND children make good progress. They work in partnership with parents; they listen to parent’s views, discussing their child’s strengths and needs honestly so as to plan provision and next steps together.
