Facilities

NURSERY
Prince’s Mead Nursery offers a warm, welcoming and nurturing environment for children aged 3 to 4 moving into Reception the following year. Our nursery moved into our Coach House, a completely renovated house on the grounds of the school close to our school community and offering a safe and stimulating home from home. Children must attend three full days in the Michaelmas Term, extending to at least four by the summer term before starting Reception.

PRE-PREP (AGE 3-7)
The Prince’s Mead Pre-Prep is a caring, nurturing environment for pupils aged 3-7. We pride ourselves on ensuring that each child flourishes and feels a sense of belonging in the Prince’s Mead family, from the moment they join us.Throughout the Pre-Prep, our staff are highly qualified and dedicated professionals who have an excellent understanding of how to foster a love of learning in young children enabling them to thrive within the Prince’s Mead family.Our pupils’ experience is complemented further by regular visits to our Forest School and specialist teaching in Art, Music and Physical Education (including swimming).

PREP SCHOOL (AGE 7-11)
The move to the Prep School offers the opportunity of more specialist subject teachers and a focus on preparation for Entrance examinations, Common Entrance, Scholarships and life beyond. The Prep School at Prince’s Mead develops the potential in each and every child and prepares them to move confidently on to their chosen senior school.Children in Years 3 to 6 play in competitive fixtures with other schools as part of the sports curriculum on Wednesday or Thursday afternoons. Off the sports field, the range of competitive fixtures extend to chess tournaments, sailing regattas and gymnastics competitions.

CLUBS & ENRICHMENT
The After School Clubs at Prince’s Mead are very popular and offer a wide range of clubs that the children can participate in. Fly-fishing, karate, sailing, cookery and outdoor adventures are just a few examples. For those younger children who prefer to just chill-out or for older children who would like to complete their homework we also run Tea-Time club and prep clubs.

EXTRA CURRICULAR CLUBS
The Enrichment programme covers the after school clubs and activities available to pupils at Prince’s Mead. It seeks to inspire every pupil, enabling them to develop and apply interests and aptitudes from and beyond the classroom. The clubs programme is run on a termly basis and vary each term. Some clubs have been affected by the Covid situation and we continue to review which clubs run on a weekly basis.

Admission Details

Prince’s Mead is a family school, where partnerships with parents are established early on, thus ensuring that all our pupils are nurtured and academically supported; therefore early registration is highly recommended. The admissions process begins with a visit, whether this is a personal tour by the Headmaster or to one of our Open Days.
