Facilities

Nursery
Your child’s first day in Nursery is the beginning of an exciting journey of learning, curiosity and discovery, which will help set them up for the rest of their lives. At Quainton Hall, children are warmly welcomed into our Nursery from age 3. As soon as they come through our doors they become part of our nurturing community, led by specialist staff who are dedicated to making sure each and every child feels important and loved, enabling them to thrive and flourish every single day.

Pre Prep
In Pre-Prep our emphasis is on making our pupils feel excited about their learning and showing children how they can develop to the best of their ability in a caring yet challenging environment. Boys and girls join our Pre-Prep in Reception year, aged four. We provide a happy, secure and stimulating environment, in which all children are encouraged to use and develop their talents as they grow socially, physically, emotionally and intellectually.

Prep
Quainton Hall’s four Prep years see an increasing focus on classroom study, building on the teaching of Pre-Prep and making sure each child is confident and prepared for the step into secondary education. These senior years allow children to focus even more on areas of interest to them, both inside and outside the classroom, while always being encouraged to explore new ideas and activities. Pupils also begin to take on positions of responsibility within the School, acting as good examples to the younger children.

Things to note

Activities and visit
All children at Quainton Hall, from an early age, are offered many extra-curricular opportunities. Children are encouraged to take part in at least one extra-curricular activity each term selected from a wide variety offered — this could be Taekwondo, Ballet, Chess, Orchestra, Tennis, Cookery or many more. All extra-curricular activities offer pupils the opportunity to improve their skills in some aspect of their education; they are designed to broaden each child’s learning experience and to develop their talents, skills and interests.Whether it is sport, drama, public speaking, music or a theatre visit, there is something for everyone!

Sport
There is undoubtedly a connection between health and fitness and a child’s academic attainment. This is why children of all abilities at Quainton Hall take part in a wide-ranging programme of PE, Games and Swimming as part of the curriculum. Experience of games also enables our children to grow in confidence and stature. Team-building and representing Quainton Hall in competitive fixtures are important too and give experience of winning and losing as well as being healthy and enjoyable. Camaraderie and good sportsmanship permeate all that we do in this important area.

Creative Arts
As well as being curriculum subjects in their own rights, at Quainton Hall we recognise the importance of Music, Drama and Art as extra-curricular pursuits. The Arts are a vital part of School life, with all children given the opportunity to express themselves, whether that be by performing on stage, learning a musical instrument, or discovering the joy of painting.

Music
All pupils are given the opportunity to have access to practical music-making at all levels, regardless of ability. Many social skills are developed within the Music curriculum: enjoyment, participation, sharing and teamwork, self-control, self-confidence, self-expression and communication, to name but a few.It is the aim of the Music Department that every pupil will be involved in some way with the musical life of the School.
