Facilities
Nursery
The independent nursery welcomes children aged from 2 to 4 years. They place a real emphasis on helping each child develop their academic, physical and social skills. In the Nursey as throughout the Lower School and Senior School, the experienced teachers and staff nurture, encourage and support all the children, ensuring they feel both happy and secure in the care. The Nursery was recently highly praised by the Independent School Inspectorate, ‘In the EYFS the quality of teaching is excellent. Through continuous observations, staff know the children extremely well and tailor activities to meet their individual needs and interests. The concise class sizes mean that all children get the specialist attention of a private school nursery. The school and nursery teachers have high expectations and foster an ethos of joyful learning through their own enthusiasm and dedication.
Lower School
The Prep School is a vibrant, nurturing and busy school that encourages pupils to thrive in an atmosphere that is caring, ambitious and fun. Through a child-centred approach to learning and a dedicated team of staff, all pupils achieve their best while developing a passion to discover and learn.Upon entering our independent school you will be welcomed by confident, respectful and thoughtful pupils and feel the warm family ethos. At the heart of what they do is the focus on pastoral care. Sixth Form
At a Rookwood School, students will be able to grow as young adults in a warm, supportive learning environment, which encourages and challenges them to achieve their best. The students will be able to pick from expert tutoring in a wide range of A-Level subjects and will benefit from five weekly contact hours per subject. Rookwood can offer a remarkable Private Sixth Form experience that focuses on building strong foundations for the rest of their young adult lives at University, further education or at the workplace.

Extra Curricular
The pupils’ education is so much more than what is experienced in the classroom. At Rookwood Private School, they pride ourselves on being able to offer a rich and varied programme of extra-curricular activities for all ages and interests.Extra-curricular activities give our pupils the opportunity to develop new skills, discover new passions, gain confidence, grow socially and emotionally and simply enjoy themselves. They have an extra-curricular programme that takes place during the school day but they also offer a range of other opportunities such as trips and residentials.
Rookwood Private School Sports
The extra-curricular activities change throughout the year to take advantage of the seasons and to ensure that the programme is varied and continues to meet the needs of all pupils from Kindergarten through to Senior. Part of the programme gives pupils the opportunity to pursue sporting interests, and they have offered Gymnastics, Tag Rugby, Football (for boys and girls), Netball, Trampolining, Cross Country, Wall Climbing and more.
The Arts
The Arts are a cornerstone of life at Rookwood and we ensure that our pupils enjoy a rich and varied Arts education both in the classroom and through extra-curricular activities. The specialist teachers deliver an excellent, high-quality Arts curriculum from music in the Nursery through to GCSE Art in our Senior School. The small classes give our pupils opportunities to participate actively and to build their confidence and love of the Arts. They value the contribution the Arts make to a rounded education so not only do we promote a broad cultural education and we also recognise that the Arts develop many core skills that will benefit the pupils throughout life.
