At Sherborne Girls the Music Department has a long and reputable history and music plays such an important part of School life. They offer a wide range of musical opportunities and just over 40 per cent of pupils learn at least one musical instrument.
Girls have the opportunity to study drama as part of their curriculum and participate in drama as part of their co-curricular activities. There are multiple productions each year which target different year groups so all students have a chance to shine! They include the joint-schools musical and play, a L5 production and a West play. There is an annual inter-house drama competition which is keenly fought, and girls have the chance to learn about film-making in workshops and competitions.
The school offers many opportunities for the girls to participate in a wide variety of fitness activities and classes. These classes include boxercise, zumba, yoga, spinning, body balance, ballet, street dance, pilates, bouldering and more.
The CCF is a chance for girls and boys from Sherborne to develop leadership, teamwork, and resilience.
Sherborne Girls runs a comprehensive Adventure and Leadership programme, building on the success and growth in popularity of our well-established expedition culture.
Sherborne Girls provides a varied and enriching programme of weekend activities as part of its commitment to an all-round, full-boarding education. A range of sporting fixtures take place on Saturdays and there is a service of worship either at school or at Sherborne Abbey on Sundays.

You can choose either an individual visit or to attend one of the group Tour Mornings/Afternoons. They encourage you to complete registration form two years in advance: by the time your daughter is in Year 6 for 13+ entry, or Year 5 for 11+ entry. This will ensure you are updated at every stage of the admissions process. It also gives your daughter the opportunity to spend some quality time at the School, and for all of you to build relationships with senior staff and the Admissions Team. Scholarships
Sherborne Girls offers several scholarships, exhibitions and bursaries for girls entering the School at 11+, 13+ and 16+. Scholarships are available in the categories of Academic, Art & Design, Drama, Music and Sport. Candidates who apply for two scholarship categories in addition to Academic will automatically be considered for an All-Rounder Award, as well as the individual scholarships. Candidates will not be awarded more than one scholarship unless the circumstances are exceptional. All scholarships are granted on merit, with a maximum merit award of £3,000. All awards are tenable throughout a girl’s time at Sherborne Girls. It is a condition of an award that a girl completes her Sixth Form education at Sherborne Girls and maintains a high standard of work. Scholarships may be combined with bursarial support. Girls wishing to sit for scholarship examinations must be registered for a place at Sherborne Girls.
