Early Childhood Programme (3 to 5 years)
As part of our IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), they offer our Early Childhood curriculum. Through inquiry-based learning and play, it aims to engage and stimulate young students and nurture their academic, personal and social development.

Primary Years Programme (5 to 11 years)
Southbank’s Primary Years Programme creates a stimulating and challenging environment that nurtures a child’s natural curiosity, creativity and ability to reflect, and helps them to develop a lifelong love of learning. At the heart of the Programme are six themes of global significance. These are explored using skills and knowledge acquired from six subject areas, as well as during town meetings, (assemblies), in the playground and from participating in extra-curricular activities.

Middle Years Programme (11 to 16 years)
They strongly believe our International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) provides the education students aged between 11 and 16 need at this stage of their life. Through the rigorous study of eight traditional subject areas and six global contexts, as well as participation in extra-curricular activities and community work, it helps students to:ask challenging questions, learn how to learn, establish a strong sense of their own identity and culture, develop their ability to communicate with and understand people from other countries and cultures.

Diploma Programme (16 to 19 years)

The aim of the DP is to equip students with all the necessary skills and qualities to study at the world’s top universities and fulfil all their personal and academic potential. This is achieved through an absorbing and holistic curriculum that’s focused on expanding knowledge, developing critical thinking skills and helping creativity and individuality flourish.

Things to note

Extra-curricular activities
ECAs provide students with lots of free opportunities to explore new interests, develop high levels of skill in existing interests, and develop IB learner profile traits such as caring and risk taking, which may not be easily developed in a classroom setting. After every one of our three school terms, every student has the opportunity to change their extra-curricular choices. This allows them to sample as many of our free clubs as possible and mix with a wider range of students.

Cognita’s Active Learning Centre
Cuffley is more than a traditional outdoor activity centre: by fusing the outdoors with the curriculum, it serves as a natural extension of our students’ learning environment. The benefits of the outdoors in supporting health and wellbeing are well documented. At the core of Cuffley’s programmes are fun, adventurous and educational experiences that use the natural environment of our woodlands to support wellbeing, develop character and progress essential skills.
