Wetherby School is Independent Primary school in Kensington and Chelsea for kids aged 3 to 8 (Gender - Boys )
The adopted motto of the school is ‘Care, Share and be Fair’. These are the underlying principles of all that we stand for at Wetherby. Every boy is encouraged to be the best that he can be and every member of staff is committed to enabling each individual to fulfil his potential and achieve his goal. The school is a very happy place, an energetic and forward learning environment, whilst retaining the best of educational traditions.Wetherby has a deserved reputation as being in the very front rank of pre-prep schools. Each individual boy really matters to us and we pride ourselves on developing confident and happy children with a zest for life and a love of learning. As one parent wrote’ Wetherby boys are allowed to be boys; they are not punished for having a joke and fun or being rowdy during outside breaks, or being competitive at sport. But despite their healthy boyishness and sense of fun, the children are incredibly polite, caring and considerate and respectful to each other and adults’.
LITTLE WETHERBY
Little Wetherby provides a fun and stimulating learning environment in a secure and happy setting. The early years are an important time for learning and preparing boys for the next stage of their education at Wetherby School. In Little Wetherby, the highly experienced early years specialist teachers create a holistic curriculum, incorporated with learning outcomes and activities which suit the learning styles of every boy.The Little Wetherby boys feel very much part of the school itself, joining in with whole school events and assemblies led by the Headmaster, Mr Snell. From the beginning of their time in nursery, the boys are immersed in the Wetherby ethos making the move to Reception a natural and easy progression.
WETHERBY SCHOOL
Wetherby School takes boys from Nursery to Year 3. There are four classes in Reception and Years 1, 2 and 3. Each year group operates in a parallel fashion. As Wetherby, the school is divided into Lower School – Reception and Year 1 and Upper School – Year 2 and Year 3. Each class is named after their year group and the initial of the class teacher’s surname. The ethos of Wetherby can be summed up in the phrase, ‘Care, share and be fair’ and we have high expectations of the entire community. The emphasis is always on acknowledging the positive and the boys can earn stars, Headteacher’s awards, Wetherby special mentions for exemplary standards of manners, behaviour and general respect for each other.
