Nursery
The award-winning Ramsgate Nursery is based at St Lawrence College and aims to offer an imaginative contemporary take on an old-fashioned idyllic childhood. A modern, calm and focused classroom environment is perfectly balanced with plenty of fresh air, muddy knees, creativity and messy play. Kindness and respect are considered important and, with a freshly-prepared hot lunch available with every session, children will be taught good table manners. The creative curriculum stretches across all areas of learning, with a strong focus on core language, literacy and mathematical skills, combined with the most exciting elements of Forest School where children learn through discovery and exploration. The curriculum is further enhanced by specialist teaching in subjects including Music, Swimming, PE and French.

Pre Prep
Children are happiest when their school work excites them, when they are recognised for their achievements and supported if needed, when they feel safe, and when they have time to play. At St Lawrence College they take great care to support each child, nurturing them to reach their potential in all aspects of school life as they move through Pre-Prep and into Prep and beyond. With spacious grounds, wonderful resources and a dedicated staff team they leave no stone unturned to find out what motivates your child, offering them an innovative range of lessons and experiences. We aim to build a firm foundation and give children a head start, teaching them to listen, co-operate, concentrate, think and express themselves. Even at Nursery level, our children begin to benefit from specialist teaching which adds an extra dimension to learning throughout the school as a whole. A structured phonics programme puts a strong emphasis on reading and writing skills, ensuring that most pupils exceed expectations. We are ambitious for every child and are proud of our excellent academic record. Personal attention is given within small classes where talents are recognized and needs are catered for.

Senior
St Lawrence College has a rich history and a reputation for excellence. The genuine feeling of community is tangible and there is no doubt that the Christian values, boarding ethos, all-through nature of the school and focus on the individual contribute to a feeling of care and compassion that permeates every corner of the campus. It is my honour and privilege to be leading such an outstanding school. The aim is to ensure that every individual achieves their potential and this is most clearly illustrated in our excellent Value Added academic results. A combination of dedicated teachers, a broad and challenging curriculum, strong work ethic and focus on core educational skills combine to provide a stimulating, inspiring and purposeful learning experience for our pupils. All of this is underpinned by High Performance Learning; an understanding that intelligence is not fixed and that high performance in education is achievable by all.
