The curriculum is based on a set of core objectives which are underpinned by the school’s Catholic ethos and three key principles: Gospel values, powerful knowledge and enrichment. You can read more about these in our school’s Statement of Curriculum IntentIn September 2020 we began the phased introduction of our knowledge rich curriculum – a curriculum specifically designed to be ambitious and to equip students with the knowledge they will need to be successful, productive citizens in the twenty-first century. Our curriculum has been designed with progress over time in mind, the focus firmly falling on how our students will develop their knowledge and understanding of each subject during their five or seven years with us.
Duke of Edinburgh
The Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme is available to all students, starting with the bronze award in Year 9. The successful students will have the opportunity to continue with the silver and gold awards in Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13.

They strongly encourage our young people to pursue an interest in music and they have the opportunity to gain from an ever growing range of instrumental tuition at all levels. There is also a strong tradition of drama, with several dramatic and musical productions each year.
