The Grange Learning Centre is located in the North East, fully integrated therapeutic, education and care provides small group of young people with the perfect back drop to release their full potential.
Integrated Therapeutic Offer allows to provide sector leading standards of education, therapeutic support and care for small groups of young people, all on one site. This approach mirrors that of a traditional children’s home and school relationship, but considers the additional support required by young people with significant special educational needs. The young people will live in a children’s home located on-site. These purpose built homes provide an extremely high quality living experience for young people.
They offer a complete package of residential care, in conjunction with our on-site learning centre, that consistently allows children to realise their potential, both academically and socially. Each young person is closely supported throughout their school day and home life. There are strong links between the children’s home and learning centre to ensure the best possible outcomes are achieved for each young person and that all of their social, educational and therapeutic needs are met.
The unique characteristic of an integrated provision is the delivery of ‘wrap around’ care, education and therapy to all young people, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Selection Criteria: Selective
They have a formal admissions procedure to ensure that they are able to meet a child’s needs, so that they can make rapid progress in education and develop socially and emotionally at the learning centre.The first step of the process is for a referral to be made by the local authority to the placement team.
The admissions team will then identify if the children’s home and learning centre can meet their needs and, if so, children who the admissions team feel meet the admissions criteria will be offered an interview at the learning centre and children’s home. Staff from the learning centre may also visit the child in their home or existing placement before this interview takes place. The referring parties, parents/guardians and the child will be invited to attend this interview, where appropriate. The interview will include a tour of the provisions onsite and some informal assessments.
