Its beautiful site on the south bank of the Thames includes departments tailored to meet the needs of three age groups – Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior/Sixth – that make up a single, close-knit whole. Pre-Prep
A very warm welcome to you and your child from everybody in the Pre-Prep Department. The ambition is to make the Harrodian Pre-Prep a school where children can learn and grow in an informal, stimulating and friendly setting. They want it to be a place that children enjoy coming to and where every day can be a joyful, positive and creative experience.With its attractive architecture and classrooms, the Pre-Prep building reflects this goal. Light, space and colour encourage calm concentration and the abundance of vivid displays of children’s work inspire creativity and effort.

Prep
Welcome to Harrodian Prep school where we provide a friendly and stimulating environment for boys and girls aged between 8 -13. They are determined to deliver a diverse and exciting curriculum and to meet high academic standards throughout Key Stages 2 and 3 and we use specialist subject teachers to achieve this. The commitment to academic excellence is coupled with outstanding pastoral care. Pupils are nurtured throughout each year of the Prep school and they pay extra attention at the vital transition points that occur between leaving Pre-Prep (Year 3) and joining our 8s (Year 4) and between the 10s (Year 6) and 11s (Year 7).Harrodian Prep teachers take great pride in knowing all of the pupils in their charge and in getting the best out of them, whatever their strengths and abilities - academic, sporting, cultural or leadership.

Senior & Sixth Form
Academic excellence is a core goal at the Harrodian but not at the expense of diversity. We are committed to enabling students to realise their maximum potential whatever direction their inclinations and talents may take them in.The Senior and Sixth Form is a stimulating, dynamic and nurturing learning environment for pupils aged 13-18 with all the qualities required to make good this promise. The teaching expertise extends all the way from ‘creative’ subjects such as 3-D Design and Media Studies to the rigours of Philosophy and the most popular A Level choice, Mathematics.

Clubs and Activities
The Harrodian Prep School provides over 60 clubs and activities every week, that take place either before, during or after school. Pupils are encouraged to join any that they are interested in and to explore other opportunities.A lunchtime 1hr and 15 minutes long allows pupils time to eat a nutritious meal and to take part in activities of their choice. Pupils are invited to take on a minimum of three clubs a week. As well as regular sport, dance, music, drama and art clubs, they offer specialised activities including knitting, sewing, poetry, triathlon training, philosophy, creative writing, karate, gardening on our allotment, building Lego, examining minerals and fossils, debating, fencing, chess, improvisation, stop-motion animation, coding, making mosaics and fashion accessories. The own staff lead most activities, with a few organised and run by external suppliers.

Trips
School trips and educational visits are powerful and positive teaching tools that help to support the curriculum and enhance the social, personal and emotional development of all the learners.Encountering new environments helps teach life skills, builds on social skills and improves independence and self- confidence. Time outside the classroom allows pupils and staff to forge stronger working relationships. Understanding one another better is mutually beneficial. It enables staff to tailor their teaching to the needs of individuals and it motivates pupils to achieve their full potential.
