Nursery
The mission is simple: to provide a small, caring nursery school where children will be happy and confident. With beautiful facilities and a curriculum delivered by experienced teachers, the Nursery School at RMS provides the perfect opening chapter to your child’s education.At RMS for Girls,they understand that every child is unique and offer an individualised education to reflect this. The curriculum draws inspiration from Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Forest School, and incorporates the latest research in child psychology and neuro-development. We are committed to learning through play, helping children to develop critical thinking, collaboration and communication skills.
Prep School
The Prep School at RMS helps every girl to find her unique voice in the world. Happy children learn best, so a deep understanding of, and care for, every girl as an individual is at the heart of our ethos.We seek to foster a natural curiosity, enthusiasm and love of learning in every girl. The wide and varied curriculum encourages excellence and empowers girls to reach their full potential. An array of themed days, visiting speakers and trips all help to bring classroom learning to life.As they embark on their journey through Prep school, our girls develop the confidence to forge their own path and to celebrate their unique identity. BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
An abundance of opportunities exist for girls beyond the classroom. From music, sports, drama, and the creative arts, there is space for every girl to hone their talents, develop new skills and to have lots of fun with friends along the way. These opportunities enable girls to find their talents and extend their abilities as well as developing and fostering personal and social qualities. They are fortunate to be part of the RMS for Girls family, which gives us access to facilities that most prep schools could only dream of.
OUTDOOR LEARNING
Outdoor learning is a crucial part of our children’s wellbeing and development, so rain or shine, our nursery children play outside everyday. In our spacious and inviting outdoor spaces, children explore, discover new passions and learn to take risks. There’s a method in the mudness… research shows that time outdoors improves concentration, encourages higher levels of social interaction, and builds resilience and self-esteem. The Nursery children participate in RMS Go, led by our experienced Forest School leader, they explore the wider campus and all it has to offer.
SPORT AND EXERCISE
They are eager for the children to develop a love of sport and exercise from an early age. In our Nursery, PE sessions focus on developing motor skills, which gradually progress into sports skills and participation in team games. All lessons are taught by our specialist PE staff, with swimming sessions led by professional coaches and lifeguards in our on-site swimming pool.
CO-CURRICULAR AND ENRICHMENT
They organise a wide range of trips and enrichment sessions, ranging from Spanish lessons and farm experiences to science experiments and library trips. They regularly welcome passionate teachers from our Prep and Senior schools to lead specialist lessons, fostering a love of learning and a strong sense of community.
