Facilities

Pre-Prep and Prep
West House is a thriving Pre-Prep and Prep School that spans the ages 4 to 11 years. Our academic 11 Plus results are outstanding, but this is only a small part of our story. We place a strong focus on community, and encourage the boys to find their own place within that community, so that they leave us with not only a strong sense of their individuality but an awareness of how they can personally contribute to the wider world. The Prep School boasts outstanding facilities both inside and outside the classroom, including purpose-built specialist teaching rooms, a sports hall, all-weather sports pitches, a nature centre and acres of wonderful grounds in which to play and explore.

Early Years Foundation Stage
They know that, when it comes to choosing private nursery care parents have the very highest expectations. The main reason parents choose to send their children to our nursery is because of the care and attention we give to each child, making sure they are happy, settled and comfortable in their spacious, well-equipped surroundings. The extensive outdoor spaces of the school are also a great attraction.

Features

Things to note

Learning support
Pupils are formally monitored throughout Pre-Prep and Prep and each boy’s progress is tracked to ensure they are performing to at least their expected level. The vast majority of boys exceed national expectations.Referral to the school Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) may follow in the event that a pupil is falling short of expectations.  Should a further wave of support be deemed necessary, we provide booster classes, either for the pupil on his own or as part of a small group. Any further development work needed will be undertaken by our appropriately trained teaching assistants within the classroom environment.

West House Old Boys
The pupils leave West House with such fond memories and strong friendships that joining the West House Old Boys’ Association (WHOBA) is a must. The association provides great opportunities to stay in touch with friends and peers and to find out how the school develops.Annual events include sporting fixtures and visits to the school, along with reunion dinners and celebrations. Old Boys are encouraged to regularly check these pages for recent news.
