Western Road Community Primary School is a popular one-form entry school with capacity for 210 children.

Facilities

They have dedicated Key Stage One and Two playgrounds with large play equipment to encourage the development of gross motor skills as well as opportunities for collaborative and imaginative play. They also share the large field with Southover School so that the children are able to practise a range of physical and creative activities on a larger scale. The EYFS has a dedicated classroom and additional outside space to allow free-flow throughout the day. The Year One and Year Two classrooms also open directly onto the Infant Playground. The School Hall includes a large stage, perfect for performances such as the EYFS and Key Stage One Nativity and Year Six end of year performances. Recent plays have included ‘The Tempest’, ‘Bugsy Malone’, ‘Romeo and Juliet’, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, ‘Hairspray’ and ‘We Will Rock You’.
