Ashbourne Independent School

Description

Ashbourne College is an independent school and sixth form located in Kensington, London, England for kids aged 13 to 21.

Facilities

  • Major libraries, art galleries and theatres are also within easy reach of the college as well as shopping in Kensington and Knightsbridge.
  • Ashbourne works closely with each student to carve out an education programme that best suits their needs and ambitions, offering them the flexibility, choice and comprehensive support and guidance necessary to attain the highest grades and achieve their personal and academic goals.
  • Ashbourne offers an adult approach to learning which is friendly, informal but disciplined. Students take lessons in small groups of fewer than 10 students, which provides an ideal environment for them to fully engage and allows the teachers to offer excellent levels of individual attention, set more homework and provide feedback on assigned work.
  • In addition to the very high levels of individual attention students receive in the classroom, they are further offered extensive support outside of the classroom through weekly meetings with their Personal Tutor, one-to-one sessions with teachers, subject-specific clinics, support classes and peer group mentoring.

Features

Things to note

  • The college complements its academic excellence with an exciting programme of extra-curricular events and activities including, for example, West End theatre trips, go-karting, laser tag, sushi making classes and a visit to the House of Commons.
  • All students and staff are encouraged to get involved in the well-loved and very popular annual Revue and Creative Arts Event to showcase their skills and talents in dance, music, theatre, fashion, poetry and creative arts. They also run as wide selection of clubs from the Ashbourne Allstars football team to Bollywood dancing to astro-particle physics and chess.
  • Students are also encouraged to take part in the UKMT Intermediate Mathematical Challenge. This national mathematics competition tests students’ logical thinking, reasoning and mathematic fundamentals.
  • These activities, clubs and events help to make students’ experience at Ashbourne memorable, educational and fun.
