Description

Emanuel School is an independent, co-educational day school in Battersea for kids aged 10 to 18.

Facilities

  • The hub of Sixth Form life at Emanuel is the Sixth Form centre with its café, common room, group and silent study areas and the terrace overlooking the school grounds. Sixth Form students can enjoy private study in a dedicated study area or in the calm of the school library, which is situated at the heart of the main school building.
  • There is a state-of-the-art theatre and professional film studio, well-resourced science laboratories, computing, coding and design suites and a sports hall and fitness centre. 
  • Exceptional sports facilities on-site, including a large sports hall with dedicated fitness suites, a mini-astro, an indoor swimming pool, playing fields with pitches for rugby and cricket, outdoor netball courts and playing fields. Off-site, they own a boathouse at Barnes Bridge, three further rugby pitches and a cricket pitch at Blagdons (Raynes Park) and the use of Surbiton Hockey Club, Barnes Hockey Club, All Stars Tennis, South Bank Centre and The Wimbledon Club.

  • Sport is an integral part of day-to-day life here at Emanuel. 
  • The drama department at Emanuel is busy and vibrant, with a focus on excellent skills-based teaching as well as an exciting programme of performances, trips and theatre visits.
  • The music department is hugely ambitious for its pupils and their musical opportunities, working to become a centre of excellence for contemporary music while maintaining excellence in choral and orchestral music.
  • The Art department specialises in the areas of painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, ceramics and history of art. 
  • Pupils have a wealth of clubs and societies to explore during their free time – over 50, in fact – with a wide range of activities taking place every lunchtime and after school. 
  • Every year they run a selection of trips, ranging from afternoon visits to local places of worship to sports tours half way around the world and everywhere in between.

Admission Details

10+ entry: Year 6, known as Hill form, is the youngest entry point into Emanuel. We take 48 pupils into Hill form in two forms of 24.If your child is not successful in gaining a place in Year 6, we will offer you the chance to register for 11+ (into Year 7). Please note that if you reject the offer of a place at 10+, you will not be able to re-register for 11+.

11+ entry: There are 144 pupils in Year 7, divided into six forms of 24. 48 pupils move up into Year 7 from the Hill form, where they are joined by 96 successful 11+ pupils.

Fees

For the academic year 2022-23, the fees are £7,151 per term. They can be paid termly or monthly by direct debit. CLICK HERE for more information.

Scholarships

Scholarships are offered to exceptionally talented pupils in the following areas – academia, music, sport, drama and art – and are available at all entry points. Scholarships can be worth up to a 10% reduction in fees which can be supplemented with a bursary depending on financial need. It is possible for a pupil to hold more than one scholarship.Please note all applicants must be registered candidates before a scholarship or bursary application can be made.
