Description

Thames Christian School, is a private co-educational secondary school, aged 11 to 16, in London. Thames Christian School is unique in its diverse pupil intake and personalised approach to teaching. They teach a broad and balanced curriculum including purposefulness, confidence and resilience to life’s challenges.

Facilities

With new building adjacent to Clapham Junction station complete pupils now have the state of the art facilities that they deserve. At five times the floor area of old facility the new space includes multiple science laboratories, DT workshops, a food technology room, library, PE hall/theatre and a dance/drama studio.

Things to note

  • Each week pupils receive two hours of PE, one hour of physical activity and one hour of classroom based learning. During practical sessions, pupils apply the health and skill related fitness learnt in the classroom. Pupils work towards a leadership certificate and carry out project based work. 
  • The Creative Arts curriculum includes the visual arts, performing arts, music, design technology and fashion & textiles. Many of the teachers are specialist practitioners who work in their respective professions as well as teaching, bringing a strong awareness of the skills and knowledge required for professional success as adults.

Admission Details

Admissions process involves getting to know both you and your child. They take care to create an honest and open process, seeking to understand your child’s aspirations and how they can enable them to fulfil their potential. A Christian background is not a prerequisite for entry but every pupil and family must feel they can fully support our ethos and values.

Fees

Fees for the academic year 2022/2023 are £6,680 per term and can be paid termly or monthly by direct debit.

Scholarships

Up to five scholarships are available annually for pupils joining Year 7. These awards are made without regard to parental income and are worth up to 20% of the fees. The categories are: Academic, Art, Music, Performing Arts and Sport. Please submit applications and references for scholarships for September 2023 by Friday 25 November 2022. 

A small number of partial bursaries are available each year for families who satisfy the criteria of Bursaries Policy. Full details of bursaries may be obtained from the school office. Information about charitable trusts that assist with school fees may be obtained from the Educational Grants Advice Helpline on 01932 865619 or the Educational Trusts’ Forum www.educational-grants.org
