Description

Kent College Pembury is a leading Independent Day and Boarding School from 3-18 years. Nursery, Reception and Year 1 are co-ed. Prep, Senior and Sixth Form are for girls to 18 years.

Facilities

They play over 150,000 hours of sport each year across two sport halls, a full-size astro, nine netball courts, seven tennis courts, an indoor climbing wall, fitness suite, athletics track, cross country course, trampolines and top level gymnastics facilities.

Things to note

  • A wide range of activities are on offer including climbing, pilates, mindfulness, debating, rock choir, photography, dance, boxing, self-defence, yoga and community service. Additional team sport training also happens during these sessions.
  • Fine Art - From purpose built spacious art studios students produce high quality work using a range of equipment and materials. They offer painting, printmaking and ceramics and have a fully equipped kiln room.
  • Photography - Photography is taught at A level and is a popular choice for creative students. The department has professional equipment and software, with a darkroom and studio lighting area for shoots.
  • Textiles - Students have expert tuition in both surface design and construction. The rooms are well equipped with industry standard machines and sublimation printing facilities. The department also runs the popular annual Young Fashion Designer award.
  • Dedicated music centre is where musical talent thrives under the direction of talented teachers. Performance is an integral part of musicianship and students are encouraged to take part in events including an Open Mic Night, black tie Opera Gala and musical drama productions.
  • Drama is at the heart of KC school life. The whole school productions include pupils from Year 6 to the Upper Sixth and are West End standard. Recent musical theatre productions include Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd, The Secret Garden and Phantom of the Opera. Plays have included a Scholar's production of Medea and Parable of the Banished. Each year, pupils in Year's 7-9 perform a summer play.
  • Dance is taught in dedicated dance studio and in the Countess of Wessex Theatre. It part of the curriculum from Year 7 and practiced across the whole school. There are clubs for ballet, contemporary dance, street dance as well as a junior dance company.

Admission Details

They are delighted you are considering Kent College for your child. Families are invited to visit throughout the year and appointments can be made with the Admissions Team. They run events for Nursery to Sixth Form as well as taster days and tours. They hope you and your child will spend time getting to know us in advance of applying for a place and joining.

To apply for a place for your child you will need to complete and return an application form together with a non refundable registration fee. For Nursery and Prep School applications this is £100 (if applicant's parents live in the UK/EU) or £150 (if applicant's parents live outside the EU). For Senior and Sixth Form applications this is £150 (for UK/EU and non EU). Once they have received the your application form and fee they will contact you to advise as to next steps.
