Description

Keswick School is a State Secondary school for kids aged 11 to 18 (Gender - Mixed )

They share an ambition to be the best they can be. This happens through working in partnership, encouraging pupils to take risks, seeing failure as essential for success and developing confidence and resilience. It is what they want for the own children and is reflected in our school motto Levavi oculos. Keswick School is a co-educational day and boarding school. They invest time in developing positive relationships. These are revealed in personal qualities such as consideration, service and endeavour. Visitors are struck by the disciplined yet caring atmosphere and pupils who are mature, respectful and tolerant.

Curriculum
All schools aim and have a responsibility to teach up to a standard whereby pupils are able to pass exams. Keswick School, however, goes above and beyond that responsibility, training pupils to higher levels than required and instilling in each pupil, a passion for learning and thirst for knowledge. Right through the school, from Year 7 to Year 13, there is emphasis placed upon students learning for themselves, even if this means they make some minor mistakes along the way. This is why interactive learning and educational trips are such a large part of school life which excite pupils, inspire them to learn and understand the relevance and application of what they are learning.

Things to note

Clubs and extra Curricular Activiies
They are delighted to be able to once again offer a wide range of clubs and extracurricular opportunities for our students. The expedition began with the amazing Galapagos islands, followed by three weeks based at several different camps helping the local communities. In this time, the team helped to build a much-needed medical centre, water collection containers in communities with serious drought problems, mud walls to protect precious crops, refurbishment and maintenance work of class rooms and school playgrounds and many other projects. The students also taught English classes to the local communities and integrated with the local people by playing sports and joining in with cultural events. The experiences and memories made on this trip will last a life-time. I hope you enjoy this short film about our expedition!
