King's High School is an independent day school for girls aged 11 to 18.

Admission Details

Year 7: This is the main point of entry to our school. They generally welcome around 110 pupils into Year 7 from around 50 different schools, both state and independent. 

The process is as follows:

  • Interview 
  • Registration to sit the Examination 
  • Application for Subject Scholarships 
  • Scholarship Assessments/Auditions
  • Entrance examination
  • Reference

Entry at Mid Years: Places occasionally become available in Years 8 and 9 and they are usually able to accept a few girls into the GCSE course at the start of Year 10. Acceptance is based on performance in an examination in English, Mathematics and a Modern Foreign Language, an interview and a report from your daughter’s current school.

  • Registration Fee £75
  • Acceptance Deposit £500
  • Tuition Fees (per term) £5,042
  • Lunches (per term) £230
  • Music £270 for 10 lessons; £42.50 per term instrument hire
  • LAMDA £270 for 10 lessons
  • After School Care (1600-1800) £4.40 per hour

Scholarships

Scholarships are available to reward excellence and talent. They are awarded on a merit basis and are determined by a student’s academic or other ability. Scholarships are generally up to the value of 20% of fees, based on the results of the entrance examination and other assessments.

All scholarships can be enhanced with a bursary of up to 100%, if applicants meet the financial criteria of the bursary and if the funds are available.
