Larmenier and Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School is a State Primary school for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed). The school is founded on the Gospel teaching of Jesus Christ. They believe that all people are created in the image of God. The mission is to provide an education that enables children to realise their full potential:Academically, Physically, Spiritually, Morally, Socially.
Relegious Education: Religious Education permeates everything they do at Larmenier & Sacred Heart. It underpins all aspects of the curriculum, school life and ethos. “Religious education is never simply one subject among many, but the foundation of the entire educational process. The beliefs and values studied in Catholic religious education inspire and draw together every aspect of the life of a Catholic school.”
English: At Larmenier & Sacred Heart, our English curriculum is planned and sequenced so that new knowledge builds upon what has been previously learnt. Inspired by high-quality texts, children are taught to speak and write with fluency, so that they can communicate their ideas and emotions effectively. The children are given the opportunity to develop culturally, emotionally, intellectually, socially and spiritually, through books and a shared love of literature. Exposure to carefully selected texts develops children’s ability to capture the interest and imagination of an audience, when speaking and writing. They want every child to have access to quality experiences of literacy and become confident, happy and enthusiastic readers and writers, equipped with strong language skills for their futures.
Mathemetics: Mathematics teaches them how to make sense of the world around us through developing our ability to calculate, to reason and to solve problems. It enables us to understand and appreciate relationships and patterns in everyday life.At Larmenier & Sacred Heart we teach maths for mastery. Maths mastery is an approach to teaching that gives children a deep, long-term, secure and adaptable understanding of mathematics. When taught to master maths, children develop their fluency without relying on rote learning. They are able to solve non-routine problems without having to memorise procedures.
Send: At Larmenier & Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School they believe that all people are created in the image of God. They recognise that all children are different and that each child is unique. We strive to provide an education that enables each child to reach their full potential and to fully prepare them for adult life. At some time in their school life, children may experience barriers to learning that mean that they have a special educational need (SEN) and require particular action by the school. Teachers take account of these special educational needs and additional provision is made to support the child in their learning.
