Myles Academy caters for young people who have been diagnosed with a range of complex difficulties which have affected their ability to be successful in previous settings. Their needs have sometimes resulted in negative behaviours which have become barriers to their learning. around them. With this in mind, we are promoting an ethos of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience in all that we do.
Students at Myles Academy are aged between 13 and 19 years, KS3, KS4 and KS5, but their lessons aren't restricted to that of mainstream schools. From achieving Level 2 Functional Skills, to pursuing short course qualifications and enjoying extra-curricular activities, there is plenty to get young people engaged.

Things to note
Literacy, Numeracy and Personal and Social Development form the foundations of our curriculum. English and Maths are embedded discreetly in all subjects to re-enforce learning.
They recognise that our learners are individuals and that a ‘a one size fits all’ approach will not work. These qualifications are inclusive and accessible; available from pre E1 to L2. Lessons will be differentiated, engaging and fun whilst incorporating dedicated resources or support and catering for a range of learning styles.
The pupil will have a statement of Special Educational Needs or Education Health Care Plan.
The statement will specify that the pupil has MLD, SLD or ASD.
The pupil will express a commitment to the placement and agree to Myles Academy’s Expectations.
The pupil’s parents/carers will express a commitment to the placement and agree to Myles Academy’s Expectations.
For all “Looked After Children”, there must be permanently named carers and a permanent home base for the pupil, available at any time throughout the year. The school cannot be the main residence for any child.
