Welcome to Falcons Pre-Prep, based in Chiswick, London. We are a leading independent day school for boys aged 2 – 7, including a co-educational Nursery for girls and boys aged 2 – 4.They are first and foremost specialists in Early Years education and we foster a love of learning through delivering a broad, balanced, exciting and stimulating curriculum which has been carefully tailored to suit this young age group.The school, formerly known as Faulkner House Boys, was founded in 1956, and at that time located in Notting Hill. In September 1989 the school transferred to its present site in Burnaby Gardens, changing its name to The Falcons and in September 2021, we opened a new nursery class for 2 year olds that is also co-educational. The school is the founding member of the three schools in the Falcons Group, part of the Alpha Plus Group, one of the UK’s most successful educational organisations. The Falcons School for Girls, located in Putney was acquired in 2001, and the Falcons Preparatory School for Boys in Richmond (now known as Falcons Prep Richmond), catering at that time for boys aged 8-13, opened in September 2008.

Forest School
One of the most exciting developments in the world of Early Years education is the rise in popularity of ‘Forest Schools’, a concept that first originated in Sweden in the 1950s. In recent years, with studies showing that children are playing outdoors less and less, this concept has really been taking off in the UK.The Head of Early Years, Mrs Leanne Bnidar, is a qualified Forest School practitioner and she introduced Forest School sessions to the Falcons Pre-Prep curriculum in September 2018. She is passionate about getting children engaged with nature and developing a love for the outdoors and the sessions have become a key highlight of the week for our Nursery and Reception year groups.
Falcons Nursery (ages 2-4)
Welcome to the Nursery for boys and girls! We are proud to be a happy, fun and welcoming place for pupils, parents and staff. The Nursery provides the first and most important steps in learning for boys and girls aged 2 to 4 years old. It is an integral part of the Falcons Pre-Prep Chiswick, playing an important role in contributing to the culture and ethos of the whole school.Provided they are able to meet all of your son’s needs as stated in the SEND section of our Admissions Policy, attendance at our Nursery guarantees automatic entry into Reception for all boys. As a result, they are assured of a flying start as they move seamlessly into the main school.
Year 1 and Year 2
In Key Stage 1 the teaching and learning is more formal as the boys move towards the end of their time at the Pre-Prep. Throughout Year 2, all traditional subject areas are taught. The boys focus on English and Mathematics on a daily basis, with all other subjects taught through termly topics. The curriculum has been specifically tailored to cater for boys, thinking about their own personal learning styles and interests. Termly trips are planned in order add relevance to their learning and to bring their topics to life. Their learning experience is greatly enhanced through the use of technology in the form of interactive white boards, netbooks and iPads.

Holiday Clubs & After school activities
They offer full wraparound care from 7.45am to 5pm during term-time (to 6pm subject to availability), as well as Holiday Clubs in the major school holidays which are run by our own members of staff.In terms of our after school provision, we pride ourselves on the number of after school clubs we offer our children, the majority of which are included in the fees.These clubs vary in age-range, interest and ability, depending on the skills of the member of staff. Our staff take great pride in presenting clubs that are exciting, challenging and most importantly, fun. These clubs are offered on a rotation basis as some of them are very popular and we like to give all the students the opportunity to participate in at least one of their first choice clubs. The choices of clubs change each term, depending on staffing. Our School council play an important part in suggesting potential new clubs.
