Scarborough College is an independent coeducational day and boarding school aged 3–18.

Facilities

  • There is more than one Scarborough College library. One library is situated in the infants’ section of the Prep School and consists of books that assist the pupils in the development of their reading skills. The Prep School has its own library.The Senior School library is adjacent to the Sixth Form study centre and consists of a physical library and an E-library. 
  • There are excellent practice rooms, all equipped with Yamaha pianos. The main teaching rooms are well equipped with both computers and a range of musical instruments. 
  • Amazing sports facilities.

Admission Details

Little Owls, Prep School and Senior: If you are thinking about applying to Scarborough College, your admissions journey starts here. You can contact Registrar, Mrs Amy Bays ([email protected]) for all admissions enquiries.  

Pre-School (Little Owls): If you would like your son or daughter to join our nursery, please contact Pre-School and Prep School Registrar, Mrs Amy Bays, at the College. There are no assessments, just an application form to complete in order to register your child and secure your preferred sessions. If you would like to consider applying for the Prep School from the Little Owls, then please talk to Mrs Hunter. She will be delighted to arrange a taster day.  

Prep School: Applying to join the Prep School is easy as there is no waiting list for any of the year groups. If you would like your son or daughter to join the Prep School, please contact Mrs Bays via email ([email protected]) or by calling the main College telephone number. Mrs Bays will be happy to organise a visit for your family and a meeting with the Head of the Scarborough College Prep School, Mr Chris Barker.  

Senior School: Admission to the Senior School is from age 11 or at any other point through to Sixth Form. They do require the last two years’ school reports for all children joining the Senior School. In addition, they may request a reference from your child’s previous school. In some circumstances they may also ask your child to sit a general assessment.  

Sixth Form: Sixth Form students study the renowned International Baccalaureate.  Admission is subject to the achievement of a minimum of five GCSEs at Grades 9-4 (previously A* to C), or equivalent. They also invite you for an interview with the Headmaster and/or the Assistant Head (IB). In addition, they ask you to take an entrance examination. 

Overseas admissions: Overseas students must submit school reports for the previous two years. They also ask for certificates (GCSE or equivalent and/or any other exams taken) and a written reference from the Head of the current/previous school.
