St George's School was founded as a charitable trust in 1999 as a result of the merger of two schools: Edgbaston Church of England College for Girls, founded in 1886 and Edgbaston College Preparatory School, founded at the end of the nineteenth century. The school is situated one mile from the centre of Birmingham and occupies a six-acre site.St George's School Edgbaston is a non-selective independent day school in Edgbaston, Birmingham, England for girls and boys aged 11 to 18. It is located near St George's Church and consists of a lower school, an upper school and a sixth form.

Lower School
St George’s Lower School is dedicated to the education of children from 3 to 11 years. Small classes and a family atmosphere create an environment where children feel safe, secure and in turn successful. This enables children to settle in quickly, but this is only the beginning!They take great care to develop every child’s individuality, enabling them to become strong young citizens, ready to seize opportunities and make their mark on the world. Specialist teachers and a wide variety of learning activities beyond the classroom provide the perfect environment for your child to shine.

Upper School
Close to Birmingham’s city centre, St George’s is situated on the Calthorpe Estate and is set within extensive landscaped grounds. With excellent transport links in close proximity to the school, our students come from almost every area of Birmingham and its surrounding boroughs. Our school community reflects the multi-cultural diversity of Birmingham and we welcome people from all religions or none.The dedicated teachers are committed to far more than helping our pupils achieve their academic potential, they are also passionate about their character development, encouraging them to achieve their goals and to grow into confident and accomplished adults.

Co Curricular
St George’s School provides a rich and diverse range of co-curricular activities, enabling pupils to explore their potential and find interests in areas new to them. In our most recent ISI Inspection, the St George’s co-curricular programme was rated as “excellent”.The staff at St George’s firmly believe that educating young people is not just about inspiring pupils academically, but also giving them a really broad range of opportunities. There is provision for sport, music, creativity and life skills.All students are encouraged to participate in a wide a range of co-curricular activities to discover new talents, improve existing skills, encourage commitment and work as part of a team; skills that will serve our students for life. We want them to find activities and hobbies that they enjoy, which will take them past school and often become lifelong interests.  We actively seek to provide opportunities that will allow all students to be successful and shine. Our pupils decide which clubs they would like to have. These are changed each term after consultation with all pupils.
