Tower House School is Independent Secondary school in Non-selective for kids aged 4 to 13 (Gender - 4 to 13 )
Since the roll is small, the dedication of the highly qualified staff and a focused sense of community combine to enable all Tower House pupils develop to their full potential and become individuals. Individuals that will be well prepared for life beyond school and be able to contribute fully in a challenging and changing world. They intend to continue to combine the provision of tried and tested traditional values with the incorporation of new developments in educational methods. They aspire to guide your son on his journey from his uneasy steps on the first morning of Reception to the confident teenager, glowing with pride, receiving plaudits at his final Speech Day. Tower House will aim to provide a seaworthy vessel that ensures this journey is both safe and fulfilling.
Facilities
Reception
They are the youngest children at Tower House School. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, which has three prime areas: physical development; personal, social and emotional development and communication and language. These three prime areas are strengthened and applied through the specific areas, they are: literacy; mathematics; understanding the world and expressive arts and design. The days are busy, fun and varied. They enjoy a wide range of activities from swimming through to forest school.
Junior School
Reception follows the EYFS creative curriculum. Years 1- 3 follow the New National Curriculum. They pride ourselves on offering all boys a wide range of subject specialist teachers to teach ICT, French, Music, Art and Sport. The boys attend swimming lessons and Games sessions on a weekly basis at the Bank of England sports complex. Their learning is further enhanced by trips, special visitors, workshops and themed days. Enthusiastic staff offer a variety of extra-curricular clubs which the boys are encouraged to sample, including cookery, sewing, drama and football.
Senior School
As well as plays, sports fixtures and concerts, they place great emphasis on the academic progress and development of the pupils. Monitoring and supporting their individual needs is at the heart of the teaching style throughout the school. Exams and assessments are routine, either on paper or electronically and the results are carefully analysed to ensure each pupil is working to his best ability.Half-term assessments, reports and parent evenings ensure that parents are kept ‘in the loop’ about their sons’ progress. Parents can also contact the staff by email if they wish, either through the Head of Year or via a specific subject teacher. They encourage parents to get in touch to keep us informed about any aspect of their son’s well-being.

Things to note
The Arts
They are renowned for our ambitious and successful drama productions, often involving over half the school. These productions are modern and contemporary and give the boys opportunities to experience all aspects of performance. This can of course mean taking centre stage but of equal importance will be the boys who work the lights, stage manage or hold the sound boom when filming.
Sports
The school sports facilities are the envy of many school as we use the Bank of England sports club as our home grounds. The facilities are truly exceptional and are just a brisk walk or short ride away. Here they enjoy access to a swimming pool, sports halls, squash courts, tennis courts, football pitches, rugby pitches and cricket wickets.We teach PE and Games to all the boys from Reception to year 8. In the Junior School, there’s a PE, Games and Swimming lesson every week while Senior School boys enjoy one PE lesson and two full afternoons of games a week.
Learning Support
At Tower House, we aim to ensure that the Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) of all the pupils in the school are identified and supported. In keeping with our ethos, they believe that all teaching staff share the responsibility for meeting this aim. By working in partnership, pupils, teachers and parents can enable pupils to reach their fullest potential, achieve a high degree of independence and promote self-esteem.
Clubs
The co-curricular activities sit within the curriculum rather than outside it, and are only limited by our boys’ imaginations. If a boy suggests something and there is enough interest, they’ll do it.Clubs have included languages such as Russian and Italian and sports such as golf, squash and health related fitness. They extend to art, drama, debating, chess, board games, lifesaving first aid, and wildlife studies too.
