Africa Alive Zoological Reserve is a large wildlife park in Suffolk that focuses on animals from the African continent. Spread across 100 acres, the zoo is home to amazing animals like giraffes, lions, rhinos, zebras, lemurs, and meerkats. Visitors can explore different habitats, walk through woodland and wetland trails, and even meet some animals up close.
There are daily talks and feeding sessions with keepers, as well as special walk-through areas where you can see lemurs or feed goats and lorikeets. Kids can enjoy outdoor play areas, jumping pillows, a road train ride, and hands-on fun in the Discovery Centre. There are also food stalls and cafés for families to relax during their visit.
Tickets cost around £15 for adults, £11 for children, and under 3s go free. Carers also enter for free. The park hosts seasonal events like Africa by Night, which features live music, animal experiences, and evening fun.
It’s a great day out for families, nature lovers, and school groups who want to learn more about African animals and support conservation.
