Ranger's House - The Wernher Collection The Wernher Collection is one of the greatest private art collections ever assembled, and it's on display at Ranger’s House in Greenwich Park. Ranger’s House is an elegant Georgian villa, now best known as the exterior of the Bridgerton home in the award-winning Netflix series. The collection was gathered by the fabulously wealthy Sir Julius Wernher, who could buy the very best and had a passion for what he called the ‘splendidly ugly’ – tiny, unusual artworks expertly crafted in rich materials.

You’ll see nearly 700 varied works of art, including Dutch Old Masters, fine Renaissance bronzes and silver treasures, medieval and Renaissance jewellery and tapestries with scenes of Chinese life.Ranger's House is currently closed but keep an eye on this webpage to see when new tour dates have been arranged.

History and Stories: Ranger’s House – The Wernher Collection: This handsome Georgian villa on the edge of Greenwich Park is home to the unique art collection formed by diamond magnate Julius Wernher around 1900. One of the greatest private art collections ever assembled in Europe, it presents an extraordinary wealth of medieval, Renaissance and early modern works, including masterpieces of international importance.
The house itself, built in 1723 and later the residence of the Rangers of Greenwich Park, remained home to aristocrats and royals until 1902. Find out more about the collection and the history of the house here.
Gardens: There is a small garden located to side of Ranger’s House. From here, you can access the Rose Garden in Greenwich Park.
Exhibition: The Wernher Collection consists of nearly 700 works of art, including early religious painting and Dutch Old Masters, minute carved Gothic ivories, fine Renaissance bronzes and silver treasures.

Facilities

Parking: Extremely limited free parking outside the house; there’s more parking alongside the bowling green next door. Neither is managed by English Heritage. Restrictions are in operation between 9am and 10am.
Food And Drink: Ranger’s House has no facilities for refreshments or vending machines.
Toilets: Male/female and disabled toilets are available at the house. Unfortunately there are no baby-changing facilities.
Dogs: Guide dogs are welcome. Dogs on leads are welcome in the garden only.
