Curriculum
Brunswick Park students come from a very close knit local community and very frequently have come to Brunswick Park because their parents and grandparents attended the school. They come into Reception with relatively high starting points, but without the drive to challenge themselves and stick at activities which they find difficult.As a school we aim to embed an ethos of high expectations for all. Children will embrace all areas of the curriculum, with confidence and enjoyment – leaving Brunswick Park with the necessary skills and attributes to be learners for life. Children should embrace challenges and have high aspirations for their futures with the love of learning we aim to promote. They unashamedly aim to ensure all of our children have the necessary core skills across English and Maths, fostering a passion for reading and a love of a wide range of literature. In addition, through the wider curriculum, educational and residential visits and through incorporating enterprise and numerous extra curricula opportunities and experiences, we aim to develop independence and resilience within a risk taking environment.

Reading
At Brunswick Park Primary, they recognise the importance of instilling a love of reading in every child. Not only is it important for a child’s academic attainment, it can improve their sense of connectedness to the wider community, help them understand their own identity, enable them to empathise with others and give them a deeper insight into the world view of others. For this reason, they have placed reading for pleasure at the very heart of our school. They know that the benefits of reading are more likely to be felt when reading takes place through free choice and is enjoyable.
