Jack and Jill School is Independent Primary school in Richmond upon Thames for kids aged 2 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )
Welcome to the Jack and Jill Family of Schools – a group of schools that has been providing education for young children since 1951 and is now one of the very few remaining family run educational establishments in the UK.All Jack and Jill schools focus on achieving high standards in both behaviour and performance within the close supportive ‘family’ environment and through a broad academic curriculum. Emphasis is placed upon acceleration in literacy and numeracy as well as development of effective working practices, diligence and the sheer joy of learning – a ‘tradition of excellence’ established over many decades.
Nursery and Reception
Based on Twickenham Green, our nursery welcomes boys and girls following their second birthday and is run as a school with four classes spanning two academic years.Often, starting at nursery is a child’s first period away from their parents and carers so we place a high priority on forming strong relationships with families to ease this transition. The nursery team focuses on creating a ‘home from home’ environment where parents feel as welcome as their child and communication is regular and easy. Children join their class in September or January and remain with this group of children and teacher before moving on with their friends to their new group the following academic year.In this way all children mix and remain with others at a very similar stage of development, establishing strong links with both staff and children in the group.
Pre Prep
The Nightingale House curriculum is broad, balanced and challenging. Girls are taught a traditional curriculum devoted to academic rigour and acceleration in literacy and numeracy in the morning, with a full range of creative and investigative subjects taught in the afternoon by specialist teachers. The afternoons are devoted to sport, STEM (science, coding and engineering), music, French and the arts; all taught by specialist teachers. Healthy living is a key focus for the school so the sports provision includes weekly PE, healthy living sessions and swimming lessons, taught in small groups at the pool complex of The Mall School.
Prep
Clarence House offers everything you would expect of an Ofsted outstanding preparatory school, but it is different in several important ways, too. It is a small school, meaning we can provide your daughter with individual support and coaching.Clarence House is a STEM specialist, with a dedicated science laboratory, a makerspace for building models, robots and prototypes, and state-of-the-art technology in every classroom. And we have a special focus on grit – that is, perseverance and passion for learning – that influences everything we do at Clarence House. From our special induction boot camp to our one-to-one coaching sessions, our team of experienced subject specialists has drawn from high-performing schools from across the world to enhance traditional girls’ education.
After School Clubs
After school clubs run at all three schools from the end of the school day and parents can collect their children at any time up to 6pm. The after school programme at Nightingale House and Clarence House includes a full range of specialist clubs e.g. coding, drama, art, football as well as the chance for the younger girls to relax and play with their friends. All girls can complete their homework supervised by members of the teaching staff and have individual instrumental music lessons with teachers from our specialist Music team.
