Westways Primary School is a State Primary school for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )
Westways is a large three-form entry school in a popular residential area close to the city’s hospitals and universities. You will find us welcoming, friendly and fun. They have three separate Victorian buildings providing lots of space to learn. The Early Years Foundation Stage Nursery and Reception classes are in the Warwick building including an outdoor learning area with lots of activities. Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2), ages 5 to 7, are in Mona building. The school kitchen, where meals are cooked on site is in this building and a large hall space where lunches are served for the whole school. Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6), ages 8 to 11, are in the Western building.
Early Years Foundation Stage
All children in the Nursery and Reception classes develop knowledge and skills to support each individual child’s development pathway from ‘Development Matters’ found in the statutory framework for Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which sets standards for the learning and care of children from birth to 5 years old.The Characteristics of Effective Learning relate to the way in which an individual child engages with other people and their environment through playing and exploring, active learning, and creating and thinking critically. This underpins the learning and development across all areas and support the child to remain an effective and motivated learner.
SEND
They warmly welcome all families and carers to use this part of the Westways Primary School website to source relevant information and advice on the school. They welcome all contributions from the community on how best to support you, using this space.Each school has a dedicated qualified teacher who supports the teachers, children and parents/carers of children with SEND. Extra Curricular
