Nursery
Nursery at Falcons Prep Richmond forms the beginning of their school journey. Here we aim to create a calm and exciting learning environment where children feel welcomed to the Falcons family and are encouraged to harness their natural curiosity, make use of their fantastic creativity as we support them in becoming enthusiastic, life-long learners. They place each individual child at the centre of everything that they do to enable them to develop to their potential and become a kind and caring member of our community. Falcons Prep was recently inspected by ISI and rated as “Excellent”. Our Early Years was recognised as enabling the children to make “rapid progress supported by an exciting programme of outdoor learning”.

Lower School
Falcons Prep proudly launched the first Reception Class in September 2021. They look forward to continuing to build upon the Lower School by opening a new year group each year through to Year 2.As a school, they believe that children are born ready, able and eager to learn and that it is their Early Years which are the most formative and important in setting out their future potential. Four key themes will underpin all that we do in the Lower School at Falcons Prep; a) A Unique Child; b) Positive Relationships c) Enabling Environments d) Learning and Development.

Things to note

Music
A subject that is very much at the beating heart at Falcons Prep, music fills the school building with sound and creativity each day of the school week. In class lessons across every year group, boys explore a broad variety of genres, from classical to contemporary, using state-of-the-art digital technology to access the latest approaches to learning and creating music.

Art
The fully equipped art studio provides an enriching and engaging environment for all year groups to learn a variety of artistic skills including drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles and sculpture.Learning about artists, art history and cultures is contextually instilled in the practical aspects of art, and technology also plays an important role in lessons, with a full suite of Adobe software and a bank of iPads available in the Innovation Hub.

Drama
Through Drama, boys are encouraged to explore their imaginations and given a safe space to develop their creative and artistic minds. The varied curriculum covers topics such as mime, physical theatre, improvisation, play text analysis, devising theatre, animal studies, puppetry and character development.Boys take part in various English and Drama workshops, which are provided by some of London’s first-rate Theatre in Education groups.

Admission Details

The main point of entry for the boys is Reception, for those aged four when the school year starts in September. They also have boys join them in Years 3 and 4, as well as Year 7 for those families looking for preparatory places ahead of a move to day and boarding senior schools at 13+.

Year 3 Fees – From Autumn Term 2022    £5, 630 per term
Year 4 Fees – Autumn Term 2022 £5, 920 per term
Years 5 – 8 Fees – Autumn Term 2020    £6, 395 per term
 

Scholarships

Academic Scholarship
For boys joining the school in Year 3, up to two places are available on an Academic Scholarship basis, which entitles the recipient to a 20% reduction in school fees. Selection is based on an above-average performance in the age-appropriate online tests (InCAS) sat by all candidates looking to enter the school. If selected, boys will be invited to attend an interview with a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and also to complete some further academic tests in English and Maths. Decisions on scholarship places are made shortly afterwards and reviewed annually each June.
