Mowden Hall School

Description

Mowden Hall School is Independent Secondary school in Non-selective for kids aged 3 to 13 (Gender - 3 to 13 )

Every child deserves their schooldays to be magical. They want all the children to feel at home here, with time and space to grow and develop, whilst enjoying their childhood in a nurturing, caring and creative environment. They believe that as a school, they have a responsibility to provide our pupils with as many opportunities as possible - academic, co-curricular and pastoral. Every stage of education is preparation for the next, but it is not enough to simply prepare children for the challenges that lie ahead. They need to inspire our children, to bring curiosity and excitement to every lesson, to every experience. They are fortunate to have beautiful grounds, excellent facilities and staff who are both dedicated and talented. This collectively ensures Mowden Hall School is a very special place. They all have the same aim, which is to provide educational excellence for the children in the care. This is an extremely happy school, in which relationships are built on kindness and respect. The ambitions for the children are wide-ranging, but they know that the most lasting future successes will be based upon developing their confidence, and an open-minded and creative approach to life and learning.

Facilities

Pre-Prep
The moment a child joins the Pre-Prep family they embark upon an adventure in which they will lay the foundations for all future learning. The formative years of a child's development should never be underestimated and they relish the challenge of ensuring learning experiences are so irresistible that the children cannot help but jump right in and devour them. The formative years of a child’s development should never be underestimated and we relish the challenge of ensuring learning experiences are so irresistible that the children cannot help but jump right in and devour them. This initially starts with the favourable small class sizes which enable teachers to get to know their children incredibly well. They know what inspires and ignites interest in each child and as a result can cater their experiences to their individual needs and styles. With so many experienced eyes charting children’s progress and development, there is little chance of anything but success.

Prep
Mowden Hall is a country preparatory school with a strong family ethos, educating boys and girls from ages 3 to 13. Class sizes are small, with one or two classes per year group – and they take great care to both encourage and stretch children based upon their individual needs and strengths.Mowden Hall combines extremely high standards of academic rigour and pastoral care. The school has an outstanding record of scholarship success. Over a quarter of our Year 8 children have been  awarded scholarships to Senior Schools for academic, artistic, sporting, dramatic, musical, and all-round ability, over the last 6 years.Against a background of traditional values, they have the time and space to ensure that every child achieves their very best. Pupils are given the individual attention necessary to ensure that they flourish, whether it be: in the classroom; on the sports fields; in the music school; in the art department; during the vast array of activities on offer. They also invest time in teaching manners and the common courtesies which are so often overlooked in the rush of modern-day life.
